Description
HoundRoam Control Dog Harness
The HoundRoam Control Dog Harness is designed for walks, outdoor activities, and situations where additional handling options can be useful. Its adjustable design combines front and back leash attachment points, a padded top handle, reflective details, and four adjustment points to help you set a secure, comfortable fit for your dog.
The front and back attachment options allow you to choose different leash configurations depending on your dog, activity, and handling needs. A harness can provide useful control equipment, but no harness should be expected to automatically stop pulling or replace appropriate leash handling and training.
Four-Point Adjustable Fit
Four adjustment points allow the harness to be fitted around the neck and chest within the available size range.
A properly adjusted harness should remain reasonably stable without unnecessarily restricting normal movement. Check the fit before use and recheck it periodically, especially during longer walks or outdoor activities.
For detailed measuring and fitting guidance, see our Dog Harness Size Guide.
Front and Back Leash Attachments
The harness includes both front and back metal leash attachment points.
The back attachment provides a conventional leash position for everyday walking and outdoor use. The front attachment offers an alternative leash position that may provide additional directional influence in some walking situations.
The effect of any leash attachment depends on the individual dog, harness fit, leash handling, and situation. A front attachment should not be treated as a feature that automatically stops pulling.
Padded Top Control Handle
A padded handle on the back of the harness provides an additional point for close-range handling when appropriate.
The handle is intended as a handling feature and should not automatically be treated as lifting equipment. Do not assume that it is designed to support your dog’s full body weight unless a specific lifting capability has been tested and documented.
Outdoor-Ready Construction
The harness uses Oxford fabric construction with nylon webbing, soft edging, and metal leash attachment points.
Its structured design is intended for everyday walks and outdoor activities while providing multiple adjustment and handling options.
Reflective details are incorporated into the harness to help improve visibility in some low-light conditions. Reflective elements are a visibility aid and do not guarantee that your dog will be visible in every environment.
Size & Fit
Choose a size using your dog’s actual neck and chest measurements rather than body weight alone.
| Size | Neck | Chest |
|---|---|---|
| S | 14.2–18.1 in (36–46 cm) | 14.2–19.7 in (36–50 cm) |
| M | 17.3–21.3 in (44–54 cm) | 18.1–24.8 in (46–63 cm) |
| L | 18.5–25.2 in (47–64 cm) | 21.3–28.0 in (54–71 cm) |
| XL | 23.6–31.1 in (60–79 cm) | 26.8–36.6 in (68–93 cm) |
Measure before choosing a size. Use your dog’s neck and chest measurements as the primary guide. If your dog falls between sizes, compare both measurements and choose the size that provides an appropriate adjustment range.
For step-by-step measuring instructions, see How to Measure a Dog for a Harness.

How We Evaluate Our Gear
HoundRoam is developing a structured process for evaluating fit, construction, leash attachment points, handling features, movement, visibility, and outdoor use.
Planned testing should not be confused with completed testing. We do not publish unsupported load ratings or describe a harness as escape-proof based only on its design features.

Choose the Right HoundRoam Harness
Different harness designs can suit different priorities.
The HoundRoam Control Dog Harness emphasizes multiple handling options with front and back leash attachments and a padded top handle.
If extended body coverage and additional adjustment around the torso are priorities, see the HoundRoam Secure-Fit Dog Harness.
